Safer Recruitment Compliance - A Statement of Assurance


The Complete Works Independent School (TCW) is a registered Independent School and the safety and welfare of our students is of paramount importance. We are committed to meeting all statutory safeguarding and safer recruitment requirements required by KCSIE 2025.


TCW confirms that every member of staff is fully vetted in line with statutory safer recruitment guidance. No member of staff begins work with TCW until all required checks have been fully completed and verified.

All staff at The Complete Works are subject to:

• Enhanced DBS check

• Two suitable written references from previous employers

• Online search checks

• Selection and interview with Safer Recruitment trained staff

• Safeguarding training to the appropriate level

• Full induction programme, including safeguarding focus

• Weekly ongoing training, including safeguarding, mental health and welfare

• Regular monitoring and checks on safeguarding standards and reporting

• Individual 1:1 support offer from a qualified BACP School Counsellor

• Regular line management


Teachers additionally receive:

• Line management from an experienced Teaching & Learning Officer who holds QTS.

• Two lesson observations conducted during the probationary period

• Ongoing support from experienced Subject Consultants who hold QTS.

We strictly follow all safer recruitment, safeguarding and child protection policies, which are current and apply to learners from Key Stage 1 to post-18. Staff wear clearly identifiable ID badges and are required to sign a declaration confirming they have read and understood KCSIE (Part 1) and the TCW Safeguarding Policy upon arrival.

This represents formal written confirmation that TCW follows full Safer Recruitment practice, in line with DfE requirements and statutory guidance for alternative education providers.
