Ofsted

After many years working as an Alternative Provision, The Complete Works became registered as an Independent School in April 2013. We were inspected for the first time in February 2014, then again in May 2018 and November 2022. All three reports confirmed that our work is consistently ‘good’, with ‘outstanding’ elements.

The 2022 report rated Personal Development and Behaviour and Attitudes within the school as outstanding. Several key areas of our work were celebrated, particularly the nurturing and respectful culture (100% of students surveyed said they felt their teachers listened to them); the exceptional range of creative extracurricular opportunities; and the ambition we have for our students.

Our aim has always been to enable young people in difficult situations to engage with education and succeed to the highest level. We are heartened Ofsted were able to understand and appreciate the unique work that we do. These words are taken from their 2022 report:

"The educational experiences of pupils are changed for the better through attending this school. Leaders provide a highly nurturing environment for all pupils. Leaders promote a sense of community in the school. Professional relationships among pupils and staff are highly positive. Pupils feel safe and are safe.

Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are very well supported. They receive a personalised curriculum through one-to-one and small group lessons. Leaders are highly ambitious for what pupils can achieve. Pupils gain qualifications that prepare them for their next steps in education, employment or training. Pupils are sensitive to the needs of other pupils in the school. They are encouraged to develop teamwork and social skills. In class, the behaviour of pupils is exceptional."

Parent & Carer Packs

The TCW Parent & Carer Pack is shared with families during a student's initial meeting at the start of their education with us. It is a guide to life at TCW, with some key information on how we work and what to expect as a student and as a carer. If you are a current parent / carer looking for fresh copy, or you are just curious, please download one of the packs below. Our students are overseen by one of two Education Teams in our Central Office, the North Team looks after students living North of the river, the South Team, those south of the river. The North and South Packs differ only in the contact details of the education teams.
