Ofsted Reporting

After many years working as an Alternative Provision, The Complete Works became registered as an Independent School in April 2013. We were inspected for the first time in February 2014 and again in May 2018. Both reports confirmed that our work is consistently ‘good’, with some ‘outstanding’ elements.

We are particularly proud that the quality of our teaching is considered as ‘good’, and that the individual support we give to students can result in their gaining ‘outstanding progress’. We have also received recognition for ways in which our teachers use their professional skills in the creative arts to motivate students to learn. Our staff have been described as ‘well qualified’, and our in-service training as ‘good quality’, which has undoubtedly led to our success.

Since our incorporation as a charity in 1999, our aim has been to enable young people in difficult situations to engage with education and succeed to the highest level. We are therefore heartened that Ofsted sought to document the following:

“Pupils benefit from positive relationships with teachers and supporting adults. These relationships are a significant strength, considering many pupils’ high levels of disengagement and disinterest when they start at the school. Pupils trust staff because they are treated with patience, tolerance and respect. This has a very positive impact on their learning.”

Parent & Carer Packs

The TCW Parent & Carer Pack is shared with families during a student's initial meeting at the start of their education with us. It is a guide to life at TCW, with some key information on how we work and what to expect as a student and as a carer. If you are a current parent / carer looking for fresh copy, or you are just curious, please download one of the packs below. Our students are overseen by one of two Education Teams in our Central Office, the North Team looks after students living North of the river, the South Team, those south of the river. The North and South Packs differ only in the contact details of the education teams.
